The founder of Schaefer and Associates is Mr. Jim B. Schaefer, Esq. Mr. Schaefer is an experienced California construction lawyer and attorney. Mr. Schaefer serves Los Angeles, Kern, San Bernardino, Riverside, and orange counties in southern California. Schaefer & Associates offices are located in the Antelope Valley in Lancaster, California.  Mr. Schaefer received his Juris Doctor degree from Thomas Jefferson School of Law where he graduated cum laude in the top of his class. He was on the honor roll, deans list, and received a Legal Scholastic Aptitude Test scholarship while attending Thomas Jefferson School of Law.
Prior to earning his law degree, Mr. Schaefer received his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Law and Business Administration from California State University Northridge (CSUN), where he graduated magna cum laude in the top ten percent of his class. He was also on the dean's list and honor roll while attending CSUN. In addition, while at CSUN, Mr. Schaefer was specially selected and admitted to CSUN's Legal Research Program.
Mr. Schaefer is admitted to practice law in California and is a member of the California State Bar.

Schaefer and Associates brings an entire career of hands-on experience in the construction industry and years of practical construction, real estate and business experience to the representation of its clients. Prior to founding Schaefer and Associates, Mr. Schaefer started his career in the construction industry where he worked as a Vice President, Project Manager, and Estimator for a successful general engineering contractor for over fifteen years! The firm focused on heavy construction including grading and excavation, site work, concrete and paving, underground utilities, plumbing, electrical, and many other related construction activities. He is extremely familiar with all construction practices and procedures and has vast empirical knowledge in the construction industry. He has negotiated and drafted numerous construction contracts and other business documents, coordinated and handled construction defect claims, and been actively involved with the construction industry for numerous years.
